Father Of Two Died While Rescuing People In PH.
The family of Joe Blankson was thrown into mourning following his painful death in Rivers State as a boat conveying about 25 passengers from Abonnema Wharf to Dakana cap-sized around Iborama killing about six passengers.
The contractor who supplies diesel was said to be rescuing victims from the boat on Saturday 4th August along the Abonnema-Bakana waterways in Degema, Rivers state.
According to reports, the father of two attempted to rescue about 14 persons before he met his untimely death as a result of exhaustion after going multiple times to save people.
The 36-year-old man has been hailed by the residents of Bakama in the Degema LGA as hero for his selfless act that cost him his life.
The police Public Relations Officer Nnamdi Omoni confirmed the incident but said about three people died.
